We are fortunate and privileged to have Professor Stephen Heppell as our Thinker in Residence.
Stephen Heppell’s “eyes on the horizon, feet on the ground” approach, coupled with a vast portfolio of effective large scale projects over three decades, have established him internationally as a widely and fondly recognized leader in the fields of learning, new media and technology.
Formerly a school teacher, Stephen has worked, and is working, with international agencies, Fortune 500 companies,
with schools and communities, with PhD students and with many influential trusts and organizations.
In December 2015 Professor Heppell gave his first inspirational talk about learning spaces and environments to members of our schools' Senior Leadership Teams. The venue was Springwood Campus, one of our partner schools, and we welcomed a number of partner representatives along to the event. Since then Professor Heppell has returned to the Trust on several occasions, most recently in June 2017 when he presented to Directors, Senior Leadership from each academy and all teachers from each academy; again we welcomed visitors to these sessions.
Professor Heppell will continue to work with our Executive Headteacher, Stephen Orman, and the leaders of our schools to further develop the Trust and its schools to be at the forefront of educational thinking and practice, to ensure that our Trust schools optimise the learning experience for all pupils.
