I have the honour and privilege of being Executive Headteacher of the Ocean Learning Trust, a community of schools committed to working together to provide an exciting, relevant, world class education for our children, taking their learning deeper, wider and further than they imagine possible.
Our collective vision is to ensure every school is a great school, enabling children to become enriched, inspired and successful lifelong learners and global citizens prepared to make a difference in the world, giving them a hope for the future. We strive for our schools to be outstanding in every respect.
The Trust consists of a mix of community and church schools, currently: St Luke’s Primary, Heathlands Primary, St Clement’s & St John’s Infant and Bethany Junior Schools. Our schools each have their own Headteacher and Local Governing Body and are encouraged to develop their distinctive character, ethos and values within the communities they serve.
I have been Headteacher of several schools over the last 24 years, driven to ensure all children under my care have access to a high standard of education, achieve well, grow in character and recognise their own uniqueness and respect and value the uniqueness and dignity of others.
These are exciting yet challenging times in education, and we can best meet these challenges head on by working closely with partner schools and being at the forefront of new developments for the benefit of all children and staff who work in the Trust.
